The Construction and Engineering Skill Centre
The Construction and Engineering Skill Centre specialises in construction, engineering (welding/fabrication), and pre apprenticeship programs.
Our professional staff have industry experience in their field, hold workplace trainer/assessor qualifications, and attend professional development to ensure their skills are current and of a professional standard.
Programs offered from the skill centre include:
- Certificate I school based programs in partnership with local high schools
- Certificate II Pre Apprenticeship programs
- Certificate II/III traineeships and apprenticeships
- Certificate III Fast Track apprentice recognition for existing workers
- Customised short courses
Training is offered in a variety of ways, including group delivery, night training, and on job assessment – so it doesn’t matter what your circumstance, we will try to tailor a program for you.
Facilities:
The Skill Centre facilities are professionally equipped to reflect the construction and engineering industry. A philosophy of the centre is “Real Skills for Real Jobs”.
The facilities include:
- 2 air-conditioned training rooms
- A 480m2 construction workshop fully fitted with Carpentry static machinery, workbenches, and tools
- A 390m2 welding/fabrication workshop fully equipped for up to 14 students, including Arc, Mig, Tig, and Flux Core welders, single phase, 3 phase, DC, cropper, grinding bays, welding bays etc
- A 1000m2 outdoor work yard
- Video/DVD, TV, Overhead, Data Projector, Whiteboards
- Catering as required
- Student lunchroom with microwave, fridge, tea & coffee
